French Mum, humanitarian, restless explorer and doer on sabbatical in Cebu (Philippines): one Attila in each arm, I am exploring the “toddlers safe” corners of the region, while trying to keep some room for Me.
“Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?”
“Ahem… you may want to have a closer look”, replied the embarrassed mirror.
I came a little bit closer than usual. Man, how come everything is so blur this morning?!
When it all eventually came into focus, I was mesmerized by the image in front of me. I would not call it a reflection, although it was pretty much the same old me. With Old in bold capital letters though!
10 years had gone by in a single night. The instructions on the cream box said “apply regularly and you will look 10 years younger”. I went to bed too late and too tired yesterday to apply the magic serum, hence 10 years older! Why have I always been so skeptical about its super powers???
What else has changed?
Did my usual yoga. All fine here at least. My teacher was right too: keep on practicing and you will thank me in 10 years. Namaste, Carlo!
Squizzing into the kids’ room, to realize that they were still as hyper and cute as yesterday. Gently uncovered the bed sheet from the hubby’s face.. No more wrinkle than yesterday. Hair still arrogantly blond.
The children did not even realize the wrinkles. Maelle noted the grey hair though, and said I looked like a fairy god Mother. Not so bad. Marcel did not seem to notice anything but kept on talking about my Mum over breakfast.
Any change to foresee in my life plan? Nothing aside from a long day at the spa and some literature about how cougars do it. “Got to face it granny” smiled the mirror “there is nothing constant in the world, except change” “Get new spectacles and smile while you still have teeth!”
