Humanity is brotherly love

“You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean. If a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty” Mahatma Gandhi

In 2007, Liberia was still bearing the wounds of its long civil war.  But just like snow drops, the those kids’ contagious laughs echoed a new era of love and faith in humanity.

Thanks a lot Tidlidim 🙂 Liberia was my second humanitarian mission and that’s really how I remember it, (a bit) bitter and (mostly) sweet. There was an overwhelming positive feeling in the music, the smiles, the willingness to eventually draw a happy future!

“Broken”, destroyed, empty were the first words that came to my my mind when I landed in Liberia. In the aftermath of the bloody civil war, everything needed to be fixed. But the spirits of its people were so high, their desire to build again, to live again, to start it all over was so impressive. This is the picture that sums it all to me:

Thanks a lot 🙂 After my assignment in Liberia, I had hundreds of pic. But the only one that really summed it all, the positivity in spite of the destruction, was this one. The resilience of those kids is incredible!
