Estelea's Blog

French Mum, humanitarian, restless explorer and doer on sabbatical in Cebu (Philippines): one Attila in each arm, I am exploring the “toddlers safe” corners of the region, while trying to keep some room for Me.

It only takes a 5-minute walk to know you are in Cebu!

And one minute for the Attilas to realize they are back on the rock. I took this pict in Bantayan, but it could really be anywhere in the Visayas (and probably far beyond, but I haven’t been out there yet). The friendliness of the Pinoy with kids is not a legend. I can’t remember a single restaurant where the waiter/waitress did not turn into a yaya (nanny) after 5 minutes.Of all the countries we have visited, the Philippines is by far the most kids friendly. Genuinely.

To me, it is THE Pinoy meal, together with your lechon manok, right? WHen I met with some Cebuano living abroad and coming back on the island for the holidays and asked them what they miss most about Cebu, they all tell me “Lechon!”. Especially all those guys working in Muslim countries, deprived of Lechon AND San Mig 😉

It’s such an interesting country and culture, and I enjoy to learn about it through your experiences.
    Thank you!
