Feel the cold ?

coldoceanlrDid you know that the blues of the colors spectrum, associated with water, are called “Cold Colors”?

Cruising the Pacific Ocean this morning, a bit of “cold” was all we really needed. May is the hottest month of the year in the Philippines, and the only thing that can evoke cold at 10AM is the famous “Halo Halo” (mix-mix), the traditional Filipino treat : mix fruits, sweet preserves, evaporated milk and shaved ice. Top with a scoop of ice cream and a little cookie on the side for the real starving ones.

5mn in the mouth, 5 years on the hips“, as my grand mother used to say…

But hey, today is Friday and Calories don’t count on weekends!

Bon Appetit!

Thanks so much for your kind words 🙂
Make sure you eat light before ordering this dessert, and that you are not seated too comfortably, or else you ‘ll have a hard time standing up again. The stuff is quite.. heavy 😉 But really worth it! Have a sweet day dear 🙂

Are you going to THailand? where? what will you teach? it’s hardly 4h fly, and as much as the Thai food is the best of the world (with Italian. And French!), the real beaches are Filipinos! See you there then 🙂

I’m teaching English there starting in September! Only four hours? So tempting! I think I’ll have to make sure a trip over there happens for sure. 🙂

I will be in Chiang Mai for my training course and then I don’t know where! I will be placed in a school somewhere in Thailand. It’s kind of scary to not know where I’ll be, but also really exciting. 🙂

Is it the Pinoy food you crave most for ?

      • that traveling nurse
        May 31, 2015

Yes I feel like the older I get the more I’ve turned into a foodie. And Pinoy food is def on top of my list. The taste is just different when you eat it there. 🙂 I’m sure you crave for real authentic French food too.

  9. It is definitely halo-halo weather. Though it’s a bit cloudy where I am right now.

Calories don’t count on weekends!? Hmm, that might change things 😛 Your ice cream looks utterly delicious. Love your deep blue ocean shot and discussion on cool colors. Thanks so much for sharing.

And each time you eat with your eyes closed, calories won’t count either. It’s a magic trick, but it works if you really believe it 😉 Have a sweet Sunday!
