Wandering in your country is such a source of inspiration! Especially in Bantayan, where the kids can see in every tiny street that money doesn’t buy creativity and fun 🙂 Have a great one!

awww. such words we Filipinos always treasure. We may not be one of the richest countries but we are surely not short on resourcefulness and smiles. I appreciate your words so much, Estelea. ❤

Thanks Debbie ! This Filipino island is pretty poor, and has been devastated by typhoon Haiyan years ago, but it offers free courses on creativity and DYI every where you look 🙂

haha.. a valid excuse to buy more shoes :p I’m quite intrigued by the Paris version. How did they do it?

Well, we Parisian are gifted, you know. We look at a wall and just say “now make it green”, et voila! 😉
A more efficient way would be to read this article http://www.ambius.com/blog/ultimate-guide-to-living-green-walls/ I actually wanted to give it a try, I saw quite lots of them in France and even in Thailand, and I find them beautiful (they also reduce noise and are pretty good for the environment) but I guess they would not last long in the Filipino heat. But wouldn’t it look awesome inside a house, made of delicious cooking herbs or even flowers?

This is quite fascinating. I got hooked! I read and saw quite a few videos. It would be cool to try out. You’ll have to customize it for the Filipino weather condition, use the local plants probably. But definitely worth a try.

Oh totally worth a try! I have been reading and watching quite a lots about those walls and came to the conclusion that I need to lobby the schools here to make this happen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCtAQOP3xuk
There is NO recycling whatsoever here, plastic and glass are everywhere. How great would it be to make something beautiful and educational out of it?..

That is so true. Maybe you should try recycling those waste to make this happen!

I’d love to! I even read about a Bangladeshi who initiated a system of “aircon” with plastic bottles in the slums. How great is that? Next time we are in Bantayan I ll try to meet up with some local NGOs to see how some of this great stuff could be implemented. Imagine if we have schools on board, what a great learning for the kids!
