Mundane Monday: off to work (Filipino version)

MM

Advices from a Tree

Stand tall and proud

Sink your roots into the Earth

Be content with your natural beauty

Go out on a limb

Drink plenty of water

Remember your roots

Enjoy the view

Want to better photography while opening your eyes and your heart to the Mundane little things all around you?

Simply follow Jithin (Photrablogger blog) and especially his Mundane Monday Challenge.

All you have to do is look around and find beauty. As he rightly says ” that is a great way to look at mundane things and be grateful for them. It can help one to change their perspective and helps one to understand that nothing is Ordinary“.

Here is my take for this week: on the little island of Bantayan, in the Philippines, nothing is more mundane than a bicycle driver. It is so hot there the less time you spend walking, the best. It seems to me that almost anyone has a bike. It’s cheap, convenient and don’t be surprised to see kids driving bikes far too big for them, yet being super at ease while carrying 2 or 3 other little ones with them! Their natural sense of balance will never cease to amaze me..

Jithin asked us this week to frame our picture, so  did I with those palm trees. On his blog, he also gives great guidelines to get the most of his photo challenge. I tried to illustrate his definition of “Pop of colour” by looking for the bright colour that stands from the crowd.

What do you think?

Wishing you all a Sunny Week !

I could use that advice from a tree to start my week today, so thanks for that! You may have also prompted me to get on a bike today!

Go go go! Stand like a tree and have your branches on a bike 😉
It has started raining here, seriously raining . Nothing stops those bikers and they still offer rides for a few cents; and appreciate if you could carry the umbrella above their head too. Helmets haven’t made it to the island yet (not sure they ever will).
Have you tried the electric bikes yet? We rented one in Japan, pretty comfy (but sooo heavy)

Haven’t tried the electric bikes but the city bikes for rent here in DC are so heavy, too! My husband dragged his bike here but there was no room for mine so the big fat ones are my only option right now! Hope the rain stops soon!

Your country seems to really take seasons seriously . I remember those winter posts of yours where it was so cold! And now you seem to really celebrate summer .. At least you get a chance to experience nature at its best, all the colours and flavours . And we are lucky to have your posts to enjoy those seasons 🙂

Thanks a lot dear ! I love trees so much, they are very wise teachers 😉 imagine if they could tell us stories, all the things we would learn from them.. Hundred of years yet still standing tall and strong …

Thanks Manny 🙂 nature is our best teacher, worth wandering more in forests … How are your nights going? Is your precious little one a good sleeper yet?

        June 21, 2016

Hi Estelea – very true! 🙂 nights are a little better now. She still wakes up but every 3-4 hrs most nights so I get to fit in a bit more sleep or blog time in which is great. 🙂

You are a good student. A teacher as well with that advice from the tree. 😉
Composition is nice. Not much advice for this week. The bicycle rider gives a sense of scale and make the frame interesting.

I am from Cebu City. 🙂 Been living outside of the country for 7 to 8 years now. Every time I am home, I try to visit Bantayan. I miss the island life.
